Oshika fence construction 1300 exhibition

Period Saturday, November 2, 2024 〜 Monday, February 24, 2025

Tagajo celebrated its 1300th anniversary this year. The Oshika fence is thought to have been built almost at the same time as the first year of Kamikame (724), when Taga Castle was founded. We will hold a "Oshika fence construction about 1300 years special exhibition" featuring the Oshika fence.
At the site of the Akai Government Office, a nationally designated historic site, recent excavations have revealed the remains of timber fences and Omizo, which are considered to be the outer edge of ancient castle fences (military and administrative facilities). It is becoming clear that it is. Inside the castle fence, "Warehouse" with the possibility of Masakura in the county Home, "Tatein 1", which is thought to be the residence of Mr. Maruko Michishima, the chief of the county, and "Tatein 2" with the possibility of the provincial governor House are also considered to be the main facilities of the castle fence.
The Oshika fence is a castle fence closely related to Taga Castle, which is located on the border between the Imperial Court and Ezo at the time, and its construction period is considered to be almost the same time as 724 (724) when Taga Castle was built. .
In this exhibition, the pillars of the outer lumber fence excavated from the Akai government office site will be released for the first time, and relics with the character of a government office will be exhibited. In addition, relics excavated from Yamoto Yokoana, a burial ground official who worked on the Oshika fence, will be exhibited.
In 1300 years after Taga Castle was founded, and about 1300 years after the Oshika fence was built, please take a look at the exhibition on the theme of Oshika fence.

The Oshika fence castle mark created to commemorate the 1300th anniversary of Taga Castle is also being distributed at the same facility. Please come and visit us.
