We hold special exhibition "Ancient city Tagajo" in 2024

Period Saturday, October 5, 2024 〜 Sunday, December 22, 2024

"Tagajo" flourished as the center of ancient Tohoku.
There was a city that supported Taga Castle under the castle.

On the south side of Taga Castle, a land divided by a number of roads was created based on the East-West Road and the North-South Road, which connects to the Tosando Station Road extending from the capital.
There were public facilities, official mansion, and the residences of the common people, which developed as a special space different from the outside of the town.

Based on the results of many years of excavations from the 1950s to the present, we approach the ancient city that supported Taga Castle.
