The Tohoku History Museum will host the World Heritage Grand Silk Road Exhibition in Spring 2024 as special exhibition.

The special exhibition is the first large-scale exhibition outside China since Silk Road was recognized as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage in 2014. Approximately 200 items will be exhibited, including 45 pieces of first-class Chinese artifacts.

In the exhibition, you can see a wide variety of international artifacts, such as the "Rokuhana-shaped Cup with legs" with Chinese-style hunting sentences on vessels formed under the influence of the west, and the "Bosatsu seated statue" excavated from the site of the Hozanji Temple, the largest temple in the Ryumon cave temple.
